Summer is in the air... the days are longer and the smell of flowers lingers in the air in the evenings. It’s time for... ICED CHAI! Here is an easy recipe for delicious iced chai.
Although there are several ways to make an iced chai, this one uses a simpler steeping method (no stove top or pot needed) and can easily be used to make one cup or ten! You can even make a big batch and store in the refrigerator for up to a week, since with this style the milk isn’t added until you serve.
To make 1 cup of Iced Chai:
1. Measure out 1 tablespoon each of your favourite Chai and your favourite sweetener
2. Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over Chai and sweetener, and allow to steep 5+ minutes.
3. Strain into a glass with ice
4. Top with milk or milk substitute of your choice
5. Enjoy on the patio!
This recipe works for all of our chai blends... Rose Petal Chai, Golden Turmeric Chai, Candied Ginger Chai and Original Chai Blend. For a caffeine-free iced chai, try our decaffeinated Original Chai Blend.
Sweetness Tip: for sweetener we love using a raw sugar, but also great options are local honey or maple syrup
Milk Tip: for milk we usually use 3.25% milk but also love coconut milk or soy milk!
Experiment: Play around with the above recipe until you find your favourite cup of iced Chai!
