Hello, world! It's been a long time since we have written a new post here, but with the cozy weather coming on, it seemed like the right day to say...
Is it just me, or does it feel like tea time?!
Sitting here drinking Spiced Golden Milk with extra fresh turmeric root and whole cloves, lots of yummy Cowichan Milk and a big spoonful of Fredrich's honey.

It’s deeper and deeper fall, there’s no doubt about that. Last autumn, I couldn’t wait for springtime. This year, I promised myself no bad attitude about it. And it’s working. (Except when the rain goes for days and days, then I get a little frustrated, but that seems fair).
We have a winter greenhouse going for the first time, and that keeps my grow-stuff-and-be-happy self in a better place. Plus, our new hens are happily laying, there are still fresh greens, herbs, squash, and boxed ripening tomatoes to enjoy, and lots of cozy cups of coffee and tea to be enjoyed in slippers and sweaters. Oh yes, and after two years of relentlessly learning how to use a water bath canner… enough stored pickles, blackberry jam, and pear chutney to remind me that summer’s bounty will carry us through, and the sunshine will return soon enough!

The twins are FIVE now, and very excited to be helping at this year’s upcoming Providence Farm Christmas Craft Fair. (Chai = sneaky sugar. I knew that trick as a kid, too!) A few new tea blends are in the works, and will be shared soon… one of them is the girls’ favourite “Nana” combo: lemon verbena, lemon balm, and hibiscus flower. Nana being my herbalist momma, the creator of many of our blends and the inspiration behind them all.
And so, even though it is chilly out and the mornings come late and the evenings early, all is good, and it really is… tea time!
Xo,
Shanti (& Co)
